Comment Policy

Welcome to the Arizona Emergency Information Network (AzEIN). The Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) manages content on AzEIN websites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter and YouTube).

The purpose of these websites is to nurture discussion and understanding of, and comfort with the principles, methods and messages of emergency management; and, to educate Arizonans on how to prepare for and mitigate against all hazards.

Mention of third-party sites by AzEIN does not constitute an endorsement of any non-government website, company, application or opinion thereunto given. DEMA is not responsible for nor does it dictate he data collection and privacy policies of third-party sites. When you link to a third-party site (i.e., a website other than EIN.Az.gov) you are subject to the rules and policies of that site.

Interruptions and lapses in service sometimes interrupt Real Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds and readers. AzEIN cannot guarantee the timeliness of information published to a third-party site.

Public comments are encouraged, and must respect conventions of courteous discourse. Comments submitted on AzEIN.gov are vetted before being published to the website. AzEIN staff moderates and responds to comments in the order they are received during the business hours of Monday through Friday, excluding state-recognized holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST.

AzEIN reserves the right to refuse or remove any user-generated content that:

  • contains profanity; vulgarity; “hate speech”; non sequiturs; names, address or phone numbers; malice; or any measure of libelous, defamatory or offensive language;
  • advertises services or products, solicit contributions or private information, distract from the purpose of this page as a forum for nonpolitical dialogue, or violate the spirit of the AzEIN Website Privacy Policy Statement; or
  • contains or advocate material(s) deemed defamatory, disruptive, false, abusive, libelous, obscene, indecent, lewd, pornographic, harassing, threatening or violent.

AzEIN will not edit comments of offensive content. Comments deemed offensive will be either rejected in moderation or removed from the site.

To protect privacy and the confidentiality of others, do not include personal information (e.g., phone numbers, social security numbers, mailing addresses, etc.) that you do not want public.

If you opt to post personal information you do so at your own risk. The State of Arizona disclaims any liability for losses and/or damages resulting from any comments posted to EIN.az.gov or any third-party channel or account associated with AzEIN.
