The Badger Fire was reported on May 20 at 2:30 p.m., burning near milepost marker 255 on Interstate 17, near the Badger Springs Exit.
The fire burned into the median, and has headed east into the Agua Fria National Monument. There have been no injuries to date.
The Fire is 487 acres and 90% percent contained.
There is a fire line around the entire perimeter that is being improved through the day. Firefighters are on scene mopping up residual interior hot spots and some smoke may still be visible from I-17.
No growth is expected.

No road closures are currently in effect on I- 17.
Public is encouraged to use caution while driving in the area as fire fighting resources will be on scene through the day.
