Summary: The Buford Fire occurred northwest of Quartz Spring Hill in the southwest portion of the Santa Theresa Mountains northwest of Safford, Arizona. Fuels are predominantly grass and brush with some manzanita and scrub oak.
Firefighters are working today to secure the perimeter and mop up, cooling hot spots around the inside of the perimeter.
Full containment is expected this evening.
