Cellar Fire Update: all ‘Ready’ notifications lifted for local communities

July 22, 2019 - 9:54 pm

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the ‘READY’ notification. All READY notifications for the communities of Pine Flat, Walker, Groom Creek, Wolf Creek, Potato Patch, Indian Creek and Crown King have been lifted. Stay aware of the latest news and information from local media, your local fire department and public safety officials. You can also visit the Sheriff's Office Web Page and Facebook for updates. Cloud cover over the fire most of the day.  Moisture continues to increase across the region today. This will set the stage for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area of the fire. Monsoonal weather patterns are trending over the next few days, firefighters will increase their situational awareness and will continue working towards containment.

There was minimal fire behavior over majority of the fire, with small hot areas interior to line in Blind Indian Creek drainage. Firefighters finished suppression repair along the southwest corner and northwest side of the fire. Potential for heavy rain increase the importance of suppression repair efforts on the northeast and southeast side of the fire.

Thunderstorms and Lightning may cause new starts. Firefighters remain ready to respond to new fires across the forest.

A recording of today’s daily operations video update is available to view on the Prescott National Forest Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PrescottNF/. No Facebook account is required to view.
