The fire area received approximately a tenth of an inch of rain overnight. Throughout the course of the night, light rain covered majority of the fire area. Overnight relative humidity recovery was good, ranging from 70 to 80 percent. Fuels on the fire are receptive to this type of moisture, diminishing the probability of active fire behavior.
There was minor fire activity last night on the fire. The east side of the fire has inactive open fireline but is being closely monitored by firefighters on the ground and aerial resources. Suppression repairs continue to be the main focus around the fire. Firefighters working on the southwest corner and northwest area of the fire will be wrapping up efforts in those areas today. Firefighters are completing a Structure Protection Plan for Crown King and Towers Mountain as a contingency measure if fire should impact those areas in the future.
Firefighters remain prepared to respond to any new starts in the area. There is a 50% chance of thunderstorms today, with gusty outflow winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning possible.
