Drone crash, causes wildfire near Kendrick Park

Coconino National Forest firefighters have responded to a wildfire southeast of Kendrick Park today at approximately 12:35 p.m. Several firefighter crews responded to a smoke report from a drone crash north of Flagstaff today. The response included several Forest Service engines, patrols, and a water tender truck being dispatched from Summit Fire to a fire burning in more than 50-acres of forest land. Approximately 30 firefighters are working on the ground to stop the wildfire. Drivers in the area are asked to drive cautiously while near the area because of smoke, response vehicles and personnel in the area. The fire is producing a smoke which may be limiting visibility on U.S. Highway 180 and local forest roads. Arizona Department of Transportation has responded to the area to assess traffic needs.
