NWS Issues Excessive Heat Warning.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning today through Thursday at 8 p.m. Visit www.weather.gov.

Dangerously hot and potentially deadly temperatures will affect the area through Thursday. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the lower deserts, including Phoenix, Yuma, and El Centro.

Hot daytime temperatures and warm overnight lows will linger across the area through Thursday evening.


  • Dangerously hot afternoon temperatures approaching 112-115 degrees are expected for many lower desert locations
  • Little relief overnight with very warm lows in the mid 80s to lower 90s


  • These temperatures could be dangerous even for healthy individuals if the proper precautions are not taken.
  • An increase in emergency room visits related to heat will be likely.
