Update Aug 30, 3:35 p.m: The American Red Cross has opened a cooling center for area residents at 423 S. Colorado Road in Golden Valley. It will be open until 6 p.m on Aug. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021.
Original Post: About 2,800 customers in the Dolan Springs and Meadview areas are expected to be out of service until late Tuesday (August 31) or early Wednesday (September 1) while UniSource crews rebuild a key transmission line that received significant damage from a storm.
The outage started Sunday evening after a powerful thunderstorm felled 22 poles on a 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line along Pierce Ferry Road near U.S. Highway 93. Crews have been working around the clock on restoration efforts since then, and UniSource is calling in extra resources to help with repairs.
That line is the only one used to deliver power to the Dolan Springs and Meadview areas, so repairs must be completed before service can be restored.
UniSource is coordinating with local emergency management officials to give out ice and water at the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department stations below until 6 p.m. on Aug 30. Check back for the hours of the ice and water stations on Aug. 31:
- 16126 Pierce Ferry Road, Dolan Springs, 86441
- 30250 Stillwater Drive, Meadview AZ 86444

Thank you for your patience as we work to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
