Starting today the shelter at the Snowflake High School Gym will close and shelter operations will move to the Holbrook High School at 455 N 8th Ave, in the town of Holbrook.
Though the areas of Show Low, Cedar Creek, McNary, Pinetop-Lakeside, Hon-dah, and Carrizo are still under pre-evacuation orders, below is a Red Cross list of which shelter evacuees should go to in case evacuations are ordered.
If evacuations are begun, we ask Showlow residents to go to the Holbrook High School shelter.
Our partner the Arizona Humane Society, will continue to care for small pets in a space adjacent to the shelter at the Holbrook High School. Evacuees are asked to take larger animals to the Navajo County Fairgrounds located at 404 E Hopi Drive.
If evacuations are ordered for the communities of Cedar Creek, McNary, Pinetop Lakeside, Hon-dah and Carrizo, evacuees should go to the Red Cross shelter at the Round Valley Middle School at 126 W 2nd St, in the town of Eagar.
That shelter remains open for evacuees and their pets as well.
The Coconino Humane Society and Eagar Animal control are caring for the animals in Eagar.
