The Sam Jim Fire is located approximately 4 miles South of Chevelon Lake in the Black Mesa Ranger District. The fire is approximately 127 acres in size in light to medium fuels and is zero percent contained. The fire is burning in ponderosa pine with a grass understory and in mixed conifer.
