The Skeleton Fire is burning in grass and brush in Skeleton Canyon on the historic surrender site of Apache Chief Geronimo. It has increased slightly in size since yesterday.
The fire is being managed for multiple objectives and has grown to approximately 900 acres today. Crews have established control features along Forest roads 702 and 703 and used burnouts as necessary to contain fire movement within those barriers.
Some smoke could be seen along the east and northeast portions of the fire this morning but generally fire behavior has been light since an increase in humidity over the last 24 hours and light precipitation falling over the fire this morning.
Two crews and an engine remain on the fire and helicopters are available for support if needed.
No structures or archaeological sites are currently threatened.
