The Tenderfoot Fire remains at 4,087 acres and is estimated at 95 percent contained. Fire crews reported no smoke over the Tenderfoot fire over the last several days. Resources will continue to patrol and monitor the perimeter of the fire for heat, and provide resources for “initial attack” for any new fires reported in the area.
Crews will continue to patrol the perimeter today, looking for smoke and hotspots, rehabilitating fire lines while maintaining and enhancing the security of those lines. As temperatures increase daily this week, these patrols and enhancements are important.
Yavapai County Department of Emergency Management will continue emergency rehabilitation planning and preparations of areas prone to erosion during summer monsoons. Crews made 15,000 sandbags yesterday to support this effort.
