Firefighters spent the day reinforcing and building fireline to contain the Windy Fire.
The Badger and Ringtail loops at Windy Hill remain closed to allow firefighters to do their job.
The gate leading into the Badger and Ringtail loop and boat launches will remain closed to the public through July 10 to allow firefighters to make sure there are no remaining hotspots. Firefighters hope to be able to open the area to the public on Saturday. In the meantime, the public can travel to either Cholla or the Marina to launch their watercraft. There are plenty of camping and picnicking opportunities along the south Shoreline of Roosevelt Lake.
