The Baker Canyon Fire has grown to 6,800 acres, with most of the fire activity on the New Mexico side of the incident, the southern and eastern edges of the fire. Firefighters have managed to contain 15% of the fire.
Fire behavior is light to moderate in areas of lighter fuels/vegetation and mostly driven by occasional wind gusts and in areas of more vegetation (high fuel loading).
Gusty and erratic winds, along with low humidity continue to be a major concern.
