The Blevens Fire is burning in the Tonto Basin Ranger District of the Tonto National Forest, approximately 15 miles northwest of Globe, Arizona.
Firefighters will have the fire 100% contained by the end of today’s shift. The final size of the fire is approximately 28 acres. All firefighting resources will be released and be available for new starts should they occur. Remember to take precautions to prevent human caused wildfires:
The Blevens Fire is burning on Tonto National Forest (NF) near the Junction of State Route 188 and 288, east of Roosevelt Lake.
The fire was reported at approximately 4:50 p.m. today. It is approximately 75 acres.
The fire is believed to be human caused. The exact cause is under investigation.
No containment is reported; however, firefighters are making progress as the fire burns into lighter fuels on the ridge top. Resources assigned to the fire include 10 engines, including four local fire departments, two Hot Shot crews, one helicopter, and three air tankers.
