The Douglas Ranger District, Coronado National Forest (NF), will burn piles of wood in the vicinity of Rustler Park in the Chiricahua Mountains beginning tomorrow, July 22. The burning may continue for several days.
The work is being done to remove dead and down material left following the Horseshoe 2 Fire. Approximately 100 piles will be burned. Smoke may be visible from Arizona Highway 80 and U.S. Highway 191.
Additional pile burning may be done on Monday, July 28.
