The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is issuing a Health Watch (HW) for ozone effective May 29, 2019 and a High Pollution Advisory (HPA) effective May 30, 2019, in the Phoenix area. ADEQ recommends that people limit outdoor activity while the HW and HPA are in effect, especially children and adults with respiratory problems.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is issuing the following air quality alerts for Maricopa County:

•           Health Watch for December 22, 2018

•           High Pollution Advisory (HPA) for December 23, 2018

These alerts are for fine particulate matter (PM-2.5). PM-2.5 is made up of small particles (soot) found in smoke. ADEQ recommends that people limit outdoor activity while the HPA is in effect, especially children and adults with respiratory problems.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has issued a PM-10 Health Watch for Maricopa County, effective Friday, February 9, 2018. This health watch is due to pollution levels expected to approach the federal health standard.

This health watch includes the following restrictions:
Open burning and wood burning fireplace activity is restricted in Maricopa County. This includes individuals and businesses which have burn permits for open burning.
