The 4th of July is less than a week away! According to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) research, every 4th of July, thousands of people (most often children and teens) are injured while using consumer fireworks. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks - devastating burns, other injuries, fires, and even death (and civil/criminal liability).
Drivers will get a break from construction-related closures along freeways in the Phoenix area and across the state over the Independence Day weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation and its contractors will not schedule closures along Valley freeways or other state-maintained highways from Friday afternoon, June 30, through late Tuesday night, July 4.
