Turning the corner on Museum Fire containment

Yesterday, containment of the Museum Fire reached 61%, extending the established containment line south of Dry Lake Hills east to Mount Elden Lookout Road and Brookbank Trail. Firing operations were conducted on the slopes of Little Elden Mountain to manage interior pockets of active fire.

Museum Fire evening update: community meeting Friday

The Southwest Area Incident Management Team is hosting a community meeting at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 26 at the Coconino High School located at 2801 North Izabel Street in Flagstaff. Fire professionals will be presenting specific fire-related information to the general public.

Museum Fire Update: firefighters complete successful burnout operations

Update:

Firefighters took advantage of favorable weather conditions today to conduct burnout operations on the north edge of the Museum Fire. Increased smoke may be noticeable as additional burnout operations take place, weather permitting.

Museum Fire "Go" - Evacuation Notice

The Coconino County Sheriff has issued an evacuation order effective at 6 p.m. until further notice for all persons living, working and accessing a home from Mount Elden Lookout Road. All residents east of Weatherford Road with access on Mount Elden Lookout Road are
included. This evacuation is to support burnout operations and to prevent the fire from coming into these neighborhoods.
