Emergency Kit Cookoff

The Emergency Kit Cook-Off is a fun way to help you prepare for emergencies and showcase your culinary creativity! The Kit Cook-Off challenges participants to come up with a recipe that uses only nonperishable items and manual tools that you would find in your 72-hour emergency go kit. This is a recipe that you would eat and enjoy if you were asked to shelter in place or make dinner during a power outage.

This year’s Dinner and Desserts challenge invites you to create a dinner or dessert recipe that uses only nonperishable items and kitchen tools that you would find in your 72-hour emergency go kit. You have until Thursday, Sept. 30 to submit a recipe and receive a Kit Cook-Off apron, while supplies last. 

Both personal preparedness and a variety of reality cooking television shows serve as the inspiration behind the Kit Cook-Off. This contest is proof that you do not have to fill your emergency go kit with bland food. It is instead an opportunity for you to show preparedness with pizzazz!
