Gila County to move into Group 1C (65 and older) on Monday, Feb. 8

Thanks to the dedicated hard work from: Command Solutions 4, Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, Banner Health Clinic Payson, Mogollon Health Alliance and Kenny Evans, Ponderosa Family Care, Genoa Pharmacy, Hope Family Care, Arizona National Guard, and all of the enthusiastic community volunteers and CERT members, Gila County is once again one of the top performing counties in vaccinating our population. Due to all the hard work on behalf of Gila County, we have received increased vaccination doses each week.

ADHS to open new appointments at Phoenix Municipal Stadium Feb. 3

The Arizona Department of Health Services is opening up registration for 21,000 more appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. This is part of the state’s ongoing work to speed up the pace of vaccine distribution. These additional appointments will be available to prioritized Arizonans at the new state-run vaccination site at Arizona State University’s Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Second state-run COVID-19 vaccination site launches at Phoenix Municipal Stadium

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and partners today launched a second COVID-19 vaccination site at Arizona State University’s (ASU) Phoenix Municipal Stadium, building on a state model that has vaccinated more than 100,000 people since Jan. 11 at State Farm Stadium.

Vaccination sites at Kino Sports Complex, Banner North delaying opening Jan. 27 due to weather

Regional COVID-19 Vaccine Centers at Kino Sports Complex and at Banner University Medical Center North both will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, instead of at 7:30 a.m., due to weather. Both sites are operated by Banner – University Medicine.

All patients who were to receive their vaccines between 7:30 and 9 a.m. will be rescheduled to tomorrow afternoon or at their earliest convenience.

Arizona passes 400,000 mark in COVID-19 vaccine doses administered

Just three days after passing 300,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered, Arizona has already eclipsed the 400,000 mark. More than 63,000 doses were administered at the state’s first 24/7 vaccination site at State Farm Stadium.

Pima County allocates 2,100 COVID-19 vaccines to rural, semi-urban areas

Pima County’s health care partners in rural and semi-urban areas received 2,100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, with the expectation they will use that allotment within seven days.

Those doses of the Moderna vaccine are earmarked for priority 1B groups, including those 75 and older.

The County’s community partners are doing targeted outreach to ensure efficient and effective distribution of the vaccine. There is no public registration for this vaccine stock.

Arizona passes 300,000 mark in COVID-19 vaccine doses administered

Almost 320,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Arizona, reflecting strong momentum over the past week in getting more vaccine into the community. 

“Vaccine distribution is accelerating in Arizona, especially with the addition of the State Farm Stadium vaccination site. Late last week, we celebrated passing 200,000 doses administered and now we’ve surpassed 300,000,” said Dr. Cara Christ, director of the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). “Arizona has been working to get these vaccines out of cold storage and into the arms of prioritized individuals.”

Nearly 150,000 February appointments booked at two state COVID-19 vaccination sites

More than 5,200 Arizonans will receive their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine every day next month at State Farm Stadium and Phoenix Municipal Stadium. 

“The nearly 150,000 appointments available in February for first doses have been booked at the two state-run COVID-19 vaccination sites,” said Dr. Cara Christ, director of the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). “It’s clear from this response that there is great demand for COVID-19 vaccine, and that’s great news for Arizona,”

Registration opens Tuesday for more appointments at two state COVID-19 vaccine sites

In a major step forward as the state increases the pace of COVID-19 vaccination, prioritized Arizonans will be able to register starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, for February appointments at two state-run sites. Initial appointments are limited based on vaccine supply, with appointments opening up depending on distribution of the vaccine by the federal government. 

More than 281,000 doses of the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine have been administered so far to 243,593 Arizonans, including 32,269 who have received both doses.
