The Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross has opened a cooling center due to a power outage at Desert Sun Mobile Home Park at 1741 W. Wetmore Rd. Tucson, Az..

The cooling center is at Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center at 1660 W. Ruthrauff Rd., Tucson, 85705 and will be open to provide a respite from the heat.

Currently, there are nearly 25 mobile homes without power and air conditioning, which is impacting 20-25 families and 30-40 kids, according to the Red Cross.

APS is coordinating directly with emergency personal on scene at the Goodwin fire. We are ready to respond should we be asked to de-energize APS lines or assess damage, once the area has been deemed safe to enter. If your power goes out, please let APS know by going to aps.com or calling our customer care center at 1-800-240-2014.

Cochise County power transmission lines threatened by Lizard Fire

Power will be temporarily discontinued to some power lines in the area

Tucson, AZ, June 10, 2017 - For Immediate Release. The Lizard Fire in southeastern Arizona is threatening power transmission lines servicing Cochise County.

Power along Kachina Trail in Kachina Village, AZ will be interrupted starting at 12:00 a.m., Oct. 14, 2016.

Power will be interrupted due to Arizona Public Service (APS) crews repairing a damaged utility line. The power outage, which will affect approximately 250 Kachina Trail properties between Bear Howard and Canyon Loop, is scheduled to run from 12:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14.

The American Red Cross Phoenix Chapter shelter will remain open for residents in Buckeye Arizona, evacuated due to monsoon storms Friday night causing power outage.

 The Red Cross volunteers will keep the shelter open until tentatively 8am Monday August 1st.   The shelter is at the Buckeye Union High School located at 1000  E. Narramore Ave. in the city of Buckeye, Arizona 85326.

The Red Cross volunteers will open a shelter at the Buckeye Union High School located at 1000  E. Narramore Ave. in the city of Buckeye, Arizona 85326.

Red Cross Volunteers are preparing the shelter to receive approximately 20 homes. Residents  can begin checking in starting at approximately 1:30 pm this afternoon.

Residents can expect to have food, water, and a safe place to stay for as long as the shelter remains open.
