Firefighters plan to conduct prescribed fire operations on the Clifton Ranger District beginning September 23 through October 30, 2024, weather permitting. The East Eagle project area is 2,506 acres and is 30 miles north of Clifton, AZ. The East Eagle prescribed fire is within the San Carlos Tribal Forest Protection Project which is one of the initial high-priority landscapes selected under the Forest Service’s Wildfire Crisis Strategy.
