Stage 2 Fire Restrictions to be Implemented across Southern Arizona Due to Increased Fire Activity and Dry Conditions

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Stage 2 campfire and smoking restrictions go into effect on state and federal lands throughout Southern and Southeastern Arizona.

Wind-Driven San Rafael Fire Grows to 10,000 Acres, located approx. 22 miles SE of Patagonia

Due to Red Flag conditions, including wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour, the San Rafael Fire is being reported at 10,000 acres. The wind-driven fire continues to push to the northeast across a heavy grass crop and is burning actively on the northeast side. Multiple hand crews and engines are currently engaged in fire suppression efforts. Aircraft, to include, Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), Very Large Air Tankers (VLATs), a Large Air Tanker (LAT), and helicopters are also assigned to the fire.

New CDC mask recommendations draw on local COVID-19 cases, healthcare system impacts

ADHS has consistently followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and today’s updated CDC recommendations on mask use are no exception. 

The CDC’s mask recommendations now vary according to a community level that considers COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents and COVID-19’s impact on the local healthcare system. The COVID-19 community level for each county can be found at bit.ly/community_levels.
