The Superstition Fire continues to burn north of Gold Canyon in the Superstition Wilderness. The fire started on 8/20/20, and the cause is lightning.
Fire managers flew over the fire today to observe the incident, and obtain an accurate perimeter. Currently, the Superstition Fire is 1,707 acres.
The majority of fire activity is on the northwest side. The fire is currently backing downslope into Old West Boulder Canyon and Hog Canyon. The fire is not a threat to any communities at this time.
