A brush fire burning in the median on Interstate 17 at milepost 249 is causing extensive southbound delays, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Traffic is backed up about 7 miles from Bumble Bee Road to Badger Springs Road. Motorists should consider taking an alternate route, including State Route 260 through Camp Verde to SR 87 through Payson.

A brush fire has closed Loop 303 westbound at Interstate 17 in north Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should use alternate routes, including State Route 74.

There is no estimated time to reopen L-303 westbound. Eastbound L-303 remains open.

Interstate 17 northbound reopened about five miles north of Sunset Point, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure was due to a brush fire near milepost 256. The right lane remains closed. Motorists should plan for more travel time due to delays.

A brush fire burning near Interstate 17 between Sunset Point and Cordes Lakes is causing significant delays for northbound traffic, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The right lane is closed at milepost 256 to accommodate fire crews. There is about an 8-mile backup starting south of Sunset Point and ending south of Cordes Lakes.
