The American Red Cross is opening a shelter at Copper Canyon High School, 9126 W. Camelback, in Glendale, Ariz., for those displaced by flooding.
There is also a shelter at Betty Fairfax High School, 8225 S. 59th Ave., in Laveen. A shelter team is standing by in La Paz County, in case a shelter is needed in Wenden or Salome.
Red Cross volunteers staff shelters and ensure anyone coming in has a safe, dry place to sleep, food, water, emotional support and information.
