Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management

The Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) will be conducting a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) Test in the Prescott Valley area on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. This test is part of a multi-jurisdictional exercise aimed at testing the Genasys Protect Evacuation platform for emergency notifications through the Integrated Public Alert and Warning Systems (IPAWS).

YCOEM recently gained the approval to send messages through IPAWS, allowing them to assist jurisdictions in need of emergency notification support.

On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the town of Peeples Valley in Yavapai County experienced an unexpected water outage, leaving an estimated 400 residents without water. The Peeples Valley Fire Department contacted the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) to help deliver drinking water to the affected residents. YCOEM activated the Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) to assist with coordination.

The Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) has been working in close collaboration with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office(YCSO) and the Yavapai Fire Consortium on the Quail Run Fire near Cordes Lakes, Arizona.

After consultation with fire leadership, YCSO has decided to lift the SET status for zones YCU-2324, YCU-2333, and YCU-2330. The wildfire no longer poses a threat to the Cordes Lakes community. All roadblocks in the area are lifted as well.

The Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) is working closely with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) and the other fire agencies involved with the Quail Run Fire near Cordes Lakes, Arizona.

The Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) has been working in close collaboration with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) on the Hillside Fire near Congress, Arizona.

After consultation with fire leadership, YCSO has decided to lift the SET status for zones YCU2444, YCU-2396, and YCU-2450. The wildfire no longer poses a threat to the Congress community. All roadblocks in the area will be lifted at 6:00 p.m.

With the upcoming Fourth of July holiday and festivities that go along with it just around the corner, the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management would like to remind everyone the County is under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.

The County entered Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on June 6, 2024, alongside several other fire jurisdictions in Yavapai County.
