Short Description
Michigan is home to over 100 cider mills. Some mills like Historic Dexter Cider Mill near Ann Arbor, Mich., have pressed Gala, Honeycrisp and Red Delicious apples into cider for over 120 years. The Emergency Kit Cook-Off pays tribute to the annual traditions of picking and pressing apples into delicious cider (perhaps enjoyed with a cider doughnut) with a non-alcoholic version of the Hotty Toddy, which we've named a Michigan Hot "Notty." This recipe was created in collaboration with Do 1 Thing (www.do1thing.com) in honor of April's goal of creating an emergency food supplies kit that meets the needs of your household for three (3) days without outside help.
