The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has issued a Ozone High Pollution Advisory for tomorrow, May 11, for areas in and bordering Maricopa County.

ADEQ issues health watches and pollution advisories when the highest concentration of ozone or particulate matter levels may exceed the federal health standard.

People are encouraged to make voluntary efforts to limit activities that cause air pollution. People with respiratory or other health problems that make them more sensitive to air pollution are advised to limit their outdoor activity.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is issuing a  High Pollution Advisory (HPA) for Tuesday, May 3 for ozone in Maricopa County.

The HPA is being issued due to light winds and sunny skies, which encourage ozone accumulation near the ground. Due to these stagnant conditions, high ozone levels are predicted for Tuesday.

ADEQ further recommends that the general public limit outdoor activity while the HPA is in effect, especially children and adults with respiratory problems.
