A delightful sandwich that includes pumpkin, peanut butter, and chocolate. This is a perfect recipe for the fall season.
Recipe Ingredients:
2 slices sourdough bread
2 Tbsp of peanut butter
2 Tbsp canned pumpkin
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. all spice or pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp cinnamon
a handful of dark chocolate shavings
a handful of small marshmallows and/or walnut pieces (optional)
Directions:
Start by taking the canned pumpkin and placing in a small skillet.
Using a small camping stove, place the skillet on low/medium temperature and mix in the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and spices. Simmer these ingredients for about 15 to 20 minutes to form a pumpkin jelly mixture.
Spread the peanut butter on the two slices of bread, then spread on the pumpkin pie jelly mixture over the peanut butter and sprinkle finely shaved dark chocolate pieces. You can also add small marshmallows and/or walnut pieces if you would like.
Close the sandwich firmly and enjoy this fun fall recipe in or not in an emergency :)
