Fire Managers on the Prescott National Forest continue to look for opportunities to treat fuels across the forest.

Marlow West Prescribed Fire planned on the Verde Ranger District

Prescott National Forest, Dugas, Aqua Fria Grassland Restoration, Prescribed Fire, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Sedona, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Cordes Junction

Fire managers on the Verde Ranger District plan to burn 1,966 acres of the Marlow West RX.  Ignitions are planned to start on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, and continue through Sunday, March 12, 2023, pending favorable weather conditions. The burn unit is located near Dugas, east of Interstate 17 and north of Cordes Junction; next to Forest Service Road 68E and Horner Mt. Ranch (T12N, R4E, Sec 27).
