High Pollution Advisory issued for Pima County

The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) is issuing a High Pollution Advisory for Particulate Matter (PM10) for today. According to the National Weather Service, the dust was blown into the Tucson region from Maricopa and Pinal Counties last night. The PDEQ PM10 air quality monitor in Corona de Tucson is in the “unhealthy” range this morning, and several others are in the "moderate" range. Elevated dust levels are expected to continue throughout the morning but will likely return to the healthy range by the afternoon.

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) is issuing an advisory for ground-level ozone air pollution for the Tucson metropolitan area today. Individuals who are especially sensitive to air pollution may experience shortness of breath, coughing, throat irritation, wheezing, and breathing discomfort.
