Prescribed fire operations resume on south zone of Kaibab National Forest, beginning May 24 on Marteen Rx Project

A mixture of moisture and sunny weather have presented excellent conditions for prescribed burning to continue on both the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts of the Kaibab National Forest. Starting Wednesday this week, treatments will resume on the Marteen Rx project located five miles northwest of Spring Valley and east of Red Hill.

Prescribed fire operations conclude on the Reed Rx/Crews move to Marteen Rx project on Williams Ranger District

Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts, Kaibab National Forest, Reed Rx, Tusayan, Marteen Project, Spring Valley, Highway 180, State Route 64, Howard Mesa, Valle, Red Lakes

Fire crews from the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts of the Kaibab National Forest have completed prescribed fire operations on the 1340 acre Reed Rx project near Tusayan. Work will begin on the 4200 acre Marteen Rx project starting Monday May 8th. The Marteen project is located five miles northwest of Spring Valley, east of Red Hill.
