As a result of recent precipitation and cooler temperatures across the region, the Stage 2 Fire Restrictions that went into effect on June 20 have been rescinded effective at 5 p.m. on July 1, 2024 on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests.
The shift in weather conditions have combined to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires. Although reduced, wildfire risk remains. Visitors are encouraged to avoid building campfires if weather conditions are dry, hot, or windy. It is illegal to leave a campfire unattended. If you decide to have a campfire, be sure to drown, stir, and feel the ash to be sure all heat sources have been extinguished. For tips on how to properly extinguish your campfire visit our Fire Prevention page on our website.
Fireworks, explosives, and incendiary devices are always prohibited on National Forest System lands. To view Forest Order 03-01-24-15: Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests Stage 2 Fire Restrictions Termination of Order, go to the Alerts & Notices page on our website.
