Pipeline Fire Burning North of Flagstaff

The Pipeline Fire, located 6 miles north of Flagstaff, was reported June 12, 2022, at 10:15 a.m. by a fire lookout and is currently 1,500 acres and active on all sides.

According to Coconino National Forest, the cause of the fire is currently unknown. Firefighting resources are onsite, and an Incident Management Team has been ordered and is scheduled to begin arriving over the next several days.

The Tunnel Fire, located north of Flagstaff along Highway 89 (35°18'14.4"N 111°35'20.4"W) is at 100-plus acres and 0 percent containment.

New CDC mask recommendations draw on local COVID-19 cases, healthcare system impacts

ADHS has consistently followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and today’s updated CDC recommendations on mask use are no exception. 

The CDC’s mask recommendations now vary according to a community level that considers COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents and COVID-19’s impact on the local healthcare system. The COVID-19 community level for each county can be found at bit.ly/community_levels.

Tomorrow: Emergency Notification Testing near Palo Verde Generating Station

On Wednesday, Dec. 1, Palo Verde Generating Station (PVGS), in cooperation with local and State agencies, will test the outdoor warning sirens located within a 10-mile radius of the power plant. In conjunction with the siren test and in the same 10-mile radius, Maricopa County will also test Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).
