With the upcoming Fourth of July holiday and festivities that go along with it just around the corner, the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management would like to remind everyone the County is under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
The County entered Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on June 6, 2024, alongside several other fire jurisdictions in Yavapai County.
Check with your local fire agencies for more information on local fire restrictions in your area.
Prohibited Activities for Stage 1 Fire Restrictions in Yavapai County Include:
Fire Restrictions are implemented to help prevent human-caused fires, and to protect the people and land in Yavapai County. Since fireworks are a traditional part of Fourth of July, but are prohibited during Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, YCOEM has some alternatives:
“As we approach Independence Day, we understand the importance of celebrating our nation’s freedom. However, let’s do so responsibly and prioritize the safety of our community,” said Emergency Manager Ashley Ahlquist.
“Fireworks can pose a significant fire risk, especially during this season. We encourage everyone to enjoy alternative celebrations and help us protect Yavapai County from the dangers of wildfires.”
The fire ban will stay in effect until the risk diminishes and agencies agree to lift the restrictions.
