The increase in wildfire starts, coupled with hot temperatures and dry fuels, forces the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management to go statewide with fire restrictions.
As of today, northern Arizona will now be under Stage 1 restrictions, to include, Apache, Coconino, Mohave, and Navajo counties.
Beginning at 0800, those northern Arizona counties will follow suit with the rest of the state. Restrictions on campfires, smoking and fireworks will be in place. Target shooting is never allowed on state lands.
