The Cellar Fire poses minimal threat to structures or other local infrastructure and will continue to be monitored by air. Aerial patrol flights observed minimal smoke coming from the fire and interior hot spots near Blind Indian Creek drainage. Smoke may be visible as interior pockets of fuel continue to burn.
Today crews continued with suppression repair and chipping. Palace Station has been returned to pre-fire condition.
The fire area received approximately a tenth of an inch of rain overnight. Throughout the course of the night, light rain covered majority of the fire area. Overnight relative humidity recovery was good, ranging from 70 to 80 percent. Fuels on the fire are receptive to this type of moisture, diminishing the probability of active fire behavior.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the ‘READY’ notification. All READY notifications for the communities of Pine Flat, Walker, Groom Creek, Wolf Creek, Potato Patch, Indian Creek and Crown King have been lifted. Stay aware of the latest news and information from local media, your local fire department and public safety officials. You can also visit the Sheriff's Office Web Page and Facebook for updates.
Another active fire day is expected today. The fire remained active overnight due to poor humidity recovery. Fire activity is expected to increase throughout the day, especially in areas where slope and winds align.
