Tonto National Forest fire officials will conduct a one-day pile burn on the Mesa Ranger District, Nov. 29.
Ignitions will begin at 8 a.m. at the Goldfield Administration site on Usery Pass Road in the Lower Salt River Recreation Area, 8 miles east of Mesa.
Fire specialists will be burning piles containing brush and small trees that were hand thinned from recreation and administrative sites on the Mesa Ranger District.
Smoke will be moderate for a short duration and may be visible from Mesa, Goldfield Estates, Fort McDowell, Fountain Hills and Rio Verde with minimal...
