Navajo Nation initiates additional weekend curfews, outlines provisions for essential businesses

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer announced a new Public Health Emergency Order, extending the 57-hour weekend curfew for two additional weekends in the month of April and closing essential businesses during weekend curfews due to community spread of COVID-19. As of Wednesday, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases reached 921 with 38 deaths.

Governor Doug Ducey today announced a partnership between the state of Arizona and the University of Arizona to provide antibody tests for 250,000 health care professionals and first responders who are on the frontlines in the battle against COVID-19. 

The University of Arizona will administer the antibody tests to check for antibodies through an individual’s blood sample to determine if they were exposed to COVID-19, had the virus and recovered. Coconino County announces additional drive-up specimen collections sites

Coconino County health officials announced additional COVID-19 specimen collections sites will be available in Tusayan and Williams this week. 

The Tusayan site, located at 1 Clinic Rd Grand Canyon, AZ, will operate on Thursday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Williams specimen collection site, located at 300 S 6th St Williams, AZ, will be open on Friday, April 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A medical provider will be onsite at both locations and able to screen individuals for COVID-19 symptoms.
