The Greater Phoenix Chapter of the American Red Cross has CLOSED the cooling centers located in Buckeye at the City of Buckeye Coyote Library, 21699 W. Yuma Road, Suite 116;  and the one in Mesa at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 940 E. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ.

Persons needing emergency assistance due to the monsoon storms may call the Red Cross at 1-800-842-7349.

he Greater Phoenix Chapter of the American Red Cross has opened a cooling center at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 940 E. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85204 in response to  to tonight’s monsoon storm. Those affected in the East Valley by tonight’s monsoon storm can come to the cooling center to get a respite from the heat, water and snacks.

The Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross has been notified by the Navajo County Emergency Management Office that multiple wildfires are burning along State Route 377 and evacuations are underway. A Red Cross shelter has been opened for the evacuees and is located at: Martinez Hall at Navajo County Fairgrounds, 404 E. Hopi Drive in Holbrook, AZ 86025.

The Martinez Hall shelter is available to people needing assistance, shelter, food and information.

The Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross and a number of state, county and local agencies and organizations have opened an Individual Assistance Service Center (“IASC”) and is urging those affected by the Tinder Fire to contact the Red Cross at 800-842-7349 or visit the IASC to open a case.

The assistance center is located at the Blue Ridge Community Church, 5023 Enchanted Gardens Lane in Happy Jack and will be open as follows:    

The Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross has closed and relocated the shelter at Winslow Jr. High School in Winslow and has opened the shelter now at Twin Arrows Casino, 22181 Resort Blvd., Flagstaff, AZ 86004, Exit 219, I-40 east of Flagstaff. The shelter was relocated due to poor air quality at the former location in Winslow. The shelter will be open for persons needing assistance, sheltering, food and information.
